Goodbye Domestic Goddess

We met 15 July 2008 a pretty, classy, shy and quiet girl. We had opposite life style so other than hang out in a large group, we didn't hang around that much. We worked together for 3,5 years. After that we rarely saw each other and from that we occasionally texted each other (not birthday - I don't have the ability to remember birthday date).

We had few things in common and she gets my joke, the way i get her joke. We never talk about important things. We changed text maybe few times a year. Occasionally, random things happened which reminded us to each other and we texted each other, had a good laugh. The last this happened was February 2023.

It's been a while since I received her text, I missed her - but somehow I didn't text her, maybe not that much to text her.

Last week I received a group message that she was sick and the next morning she was gone. Just like that, few of us gathered at her house - people cry, I just sat there clueless, I tried to make a joke which no one understand - but I know she would. I shook her husband hand, I didn't even know what to say. We just stood there like zombie for few seconds, then I got home.

On the way I heard this song on the radio - Blink 182 "One More Time"

"...I wonder why, I wish they told us, it shouldn't take a sickness or airplanes falling out the sky....Do you have to die to hear you miss me? Do I have to die to hear you say goodbye? I don't want to act like there's tomorrow, I don't want to wait to do this one more time..."

I'm not good at say good bye and I miss you.

Living in a dream

Decades ago, when I started work in the big city, just broken up my high school boyfriend, I thought that I might probably end up alone, in an apartment, with a cat, sipping a mug of hot tea sitting in the balcony, looking at the city light, so relaxing.

Little did I know, that years later, I did live in apartment that forbids cat, with a balcony too small to sit, I was able to stand and sip tea, but looking my neighbor window in the other apartment building, not so relaxing...

Sometimes, dreams do come true but sometimes life also gives us unexpected things. As a person that always see the glass is half full, I always keep optimistic in whatever challenges that life throws at me and I always dream big!

Few years ago, I gave birth and desperately sad having to get back to the office when my maternity leave ends, my husband said that, now my challenge is balancing between mothering and working. As an optimist, absolutely I said "OK! I CAN DO IT" - so I am juggling working (while pumping - lucky to have a supportive environment so I can working, meeting even presenting while pumping when it's my schedule to pump) and taking care of my precious baby. Sometimes, being optimist is tiring, some days, when life is too hard, the travelling back home is too long, the assignment is too much and other unpleasant things happen - I just think, it would be better if I can quit my job, but I enjoy my work, ah, it would be perfect if I can just stay at home, while doing my work! It would be a dream job!

Little did I know, a pandemic happens in 2020 that changes our life... jeng... jeng... jeng... we work from home (WFH) mostly - 5 days a week! I am living in a dream!

At the first weeks of WFH, we were still adjusting, as optimist, things are going great, meeting is just one click away!

But when I had no domestic assistant (we decide we didn't need assistant in 2020 before pandemic), means now I am juggling work, take care my kid basic needs (eat, poo, pee, kiss, hugs, plays, etc) and take care of the house.

I decided to be realistic, not to push, if my kid hasn't taken a shower, when it's already my meeting schedule - let it be. It the meeting is near lunch time, I have to prepare lunch while meeting - let it be. I am thankful that I have supportive colleagues and most people also WFH, so kid crying in the background is acceptable (by me at least).

But, sometimes life throws too much at me, I get angry easily (usually in the afternoon - the darker the sky gets, the darker it becomes my mood as well) the peak is when I had to take training for a certification (preparation for the test and interview), my day to day works (mountain of assignments) and kid toilet training, not a good combo - I was in a pre-test (it was 30 or 15 minutes test) and my kid had to pee and of course she did peeing next to me on the floor - this happens twice. I put on the diapers the next day, postponed the toilet training (I also want to resign and cry during my performance evaluation in front of my boss because it's too much for me to handle).

I've been living in a dream for quite sometimes, more than a year (probably more?) and I am grateful. Looking back to decisions I have made during this dreamy period, some decisions I am not proud to make and sometimes it makes me feel like I am a bad person a bad mother. But, I want to let my self know, that every decision I made, I made in the best interest of my kid at that time, given the (limited) sources that I have. I really hope I could do better, be better - you know I always try to.

Vintage City of Kyoto

In a very cold morning (2⁰C) we go out at 6am to move to our next destination Kyoto!

Here's a thing about cold weather (I know this is so dumb, but I am dumb because I live in tropical weather and lack of research on how dry your skin would be in cold weather). On second day, I realize that my lips is crack due to dry cold weather and lick your lip in order to keep it moist is a BAD IDEA! I can't smile because it's so dry and there is a moment when my colleague send a picture of my boss, with a make up of Chinese Zombie, doing presentation for town hall - I burst out a big laugh, the next thing I know my lips are bleeding (Hope I look fantastic too with the blood on my cracking lips) ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น

So, Kyoto! It's been ages since I read Miss Modern, Yokohama (who doesn't love Waki Yamato!) and Memoir of Geisha and I love the idea of the city in those stories and somehow I get the picture of such places while visiting this vintage city. I don't know why I like Kyoto the most from the cities I visited, this city is charming and I fall in love.

Tips while in Kyoto:
  1. Buy Kyoto bus pass to save money. It cost 500 Yen for 1 day, as reference one bus ride is 220 Yen. you can buy the bus pass at the convenience store or on the bus. When, we buy Kyoto bus pass, we also get Kyoto bus map.
  2. Most shops close at 8pm in Kyoto.
  3. Try to get to famous attraction places as early as possible or later before it closes. to avoid crowds.

Below is the places we visited while in Kyoto (Kyoto in 2 days):
  • Fushimi Inari Taisha - Famous red Tori gate and there are thousands of them. This place is free no entry ticket, but please be mindful that this is a shrine and people really comes here to pray, so be respectful. If, you have  budget you can rent Kimono and walk around the shrine like Uno or Chiyo ๐Ÿ‘ง Nearest Station JR Inari Station.
Fushimi Inari Taisha

  • Yasaka Dori - Yasaka-no-to Pagoda - Kiyumizudera Temple a small alley with vintage building all around. Unfortunately, we arrive so late everything is closed (shop, pagoda and temple) Fortunately since all shop, pagoda and temple are closed, most of tourist are gone! Accessible by Bus.

Pretty quiet street!

  • Kinkakuji Temple - Golden temple is listed as one of the famous and must visit attraction in Kyoto. After waiting in line to purchase the entry ticket, we can see a golden temple with the pond and Japanese garden, the scenery is so peaceful.... If there is not too many people in there, talking, taking photo, shouting, calling other friend who is missing. I feel like I wanna passed out due to the crowd ๐Ÿ™ˆAccessible by Bus.
above: The Famous Golden Temple; below: the crowds!

  • Ginkakuji Temple - the Zen temple is listed as one of the famous and must visit attraction in Kyoto. The situation is similar with the golden temple, but outside the temple there is a walkway called Path of Philosophy which is a pretty long walk with Sakura tree along the way (if it's the blooming season) ๐Ÿ’ŸAccessible by Bus.
Ginkakuji Temple

  • Arashiyama Bamboo Forest - It was a long ride to go to this area by bus, I got motion sickness on the bus, it was cloudy and bamboo forest is not a magical place to visit when it's about to rain and we spent moderate time to wait for the bus home... It you have limited time you can skip this area, if you have budget you can try to ride Hozugawa river boat ride (we really want to try but we have limited budget ๐Ÿ˜’ hihi). Better make sure you have sunlight during your visit ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’›Sun is good! Accessible by Bus.
Me with my bleeding cracking lips in a cloudy day at Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

  • Kurama-Dera - as a fan (not a big one but still we love the story) of Shanao Yoshitsune who meets Tengu in Kurama Temple, we decided to visit Kurama Temple. Unfortunately, the tram up to the temple is under maintenance, so we need to walk up (30-60 minutes hiking). It was the hardest decision we made during the trip, we decided not to go up, considering it's cloudy day, it's a forest and mountain, and it's about to rain. We don't have the experience and knowledge (I was not doing a comprehensive research about going up hiking knowing there is a tram). So, we just walk around the town and buy Tengu mask! Accessible by train.

Fail attempt to visit Kurama - Dera

  • Nijo Castle - a historic place, UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is where the Shogun lives. I overheard the guide that in one of the room of this building the Meiji Restoration begins (this is why you need to really hire a guide ๐Ÿ˜‚). This Accessible by Bus.
Nijo Castle Gate

Aside from those places we also visit Nishiki Market where we have plenty of interesting food to eat, one of them is sushi wrap in a leaf and an okonomiyaki Kyoto style (If pizza is okonomiyaki, then this Kyoto style okonomiyaki is calzone). I am trying to find the picture ๐Ÿ˜ธ for reference...

Cheers,

Japan Trip - One Cold Day in Osaka!

Hallo Japan!

Finally, here we are. Touch down Japan from Osaka Kansai International Airport (KIX). After, short planning for this trip, we arrive in a cold windy Osaka morning (below 10⁰C) ๐Ÿ˜ this is our second cold trip after Vietnam. Since, it's really cold, I really wish I could make a good winter photo during this trip!

So, lucky for your who read this (if there's any reader to my blog!), tips to do after you arrive is:

  1. Put First Things First (1) fill the immigration form (2) claim your bag and (3) go to JR office to change ICOCA booking (or JR Pass booking if you have one) - NOT to change your clothes and applying moisturizer, sunblock, powder and lipstick ๐Ÿ‘ง please do this on the plane - because the queuing line is crazy at JR office and to avoid cranky ๐Ÿ‘นhusband because you spend too long at the toilet ๐Ÿ™ˆ.
  2. Only if you purchase ICOCA + Haruka bundling ticket - DO NOT TAP your ICOCA Card at the station entry gate. Use the white paper ticket, yes it is your Haruka ticket!
  3. Go to Wifi rental. Internet connection will help you for direction and many other things. We rely on gmap during our trip and phone application for Japan train schedule.
If you follow this two steps, guarantee you will have a peaceful trip instead of having your husband lecturing you all the way from KIX to Osaka downtown. you know sometimes this ๐Ÿ’ฉ happens.

Luckily, we have a really generous Airbnb host in Osaka so we can put our bag in his office before check-in (usually at 2-3pm) and free from our bags we start our one day journey in Osaka. Here's our top list things to do (8 hours in Osaka) :
Osaka Castle
  1. Endo Sushi in Osaka Central Fish Market - Sushi is serious business and after series of research our option is to go to this place. Since, this is the only Sushi joint I visited, I can't make a comparison. All I can say is that you spend a moderate time in line (while eating sweet yam) in a cold day and it's all worth the wait! Nearest station JR Noda Station or Subway Tamagawa Station.
  2. Osaka Castle - It's end of winter and the plum flower ready to bloom, so pretty ๐Ÿ’Ÿ! Nearest station JR Osakajokoen Station.
  3. Namba shopping center with all the lights and signs ๐Ÿ˜ป unfortunately I didn't have any chance to try okonomiyaki. Next time, I go to Osaka, I must try it! Nearest station JR Osaka-Namba or Subway Namba Station.
Endo Sushi Osaka

That's all from Osaka, it's not much since we don't really spend 24 hours in Osaka! Next destination is Kyoto!

Cheers,

Hallo Japan!

Hallo,

I know this has been a long time... but my 2017 resolution requires me to write again :)
So, here I am writing on Sunday raining morning instead of cuddling with my lovely husband Kaki Berbulu (literally translated to be Hairy Foot).

Since, the easiest subject is about travelling so, here's the story about our holiday in Japan. Well, we have been travelling to several places since we get together, each year to Bali (must go place) and if we have more money once a year overseas or any where in Indonesia of we can't afford to go anywhere overseas. Our dream is to go to Turkey, Japan, UK (hubby), Paris (me).

During two first year of our marriage in accordance to our Long Term Budgeting Plan (It's a book with a picture of cat that we use to make travelling plan since we're dating, that draws all the big plan detailing to monthly - sometimes weekly if we (read: I) feel ambitious - which opened only when we make the plans! - in my defense, yes I did remember all of those plan! so we didn't have to open it all the time) all the monies go to saving for car (first year) and house (second year).

Well, because our (read: my) lousy money handling it's extended to our fourth year (blame it on me, house investor maniacs with money from God knows where that you can read here and all Tumi bags). One sunny weekend in September 2015 (fourth year of marriage), Kaki Berbulu tells me that he's dying to go travelling (and yes such thing exist for us) so, we visit Garuda Travel Fair.

Our initial plan is to go on next year September 2016 because always make big travel plan a year ahead. The thing is the promotion ticket travel date is until end of March 2016, so what we did is we sat on a corner in JCC, start to calculate the budget planning and as a devoted reliable wife with great financial management skill, I will make that happen... After 30 minutes of calculating - I never speculating! - I said we can make it, thus we bought ticket to Japan for Feb 2016! Yay!!!!

The thing from September to February is 4 months to go, limited budget (limited buffer for error) and as a planner you need a robust plan. This is what you can do:

  1. Make detail calculation means you need to have a detail plan. Start with the place you want to visit and things you want to eat (that's the main purpose of travelling to see and to eat) then you can start building your itinerary, to the detail of cost of every trains/subway trip, food to eat and entry ticket of place to visit. Sometimes buying pass is cheaper (bus pass in Kyoto and bundling ticket for ICOCA+Haruka from KIX to downtown Osaka), however in our case buying JR Pass is more expensive than paying single ride using ICOCA (for Osaka and Kyoto) or SUICA (for Tokyo).
  2. Split transaction (especially big one) - we purchase accommodation earlier and we split one transaction per month.
  3. Use cash wisely - in Japan most small restaurant don't accept card. So, split your payment and use cash or credit card wisely. Check, your place to visit whether they accept card or not.
Nothing is impossible, so if you want it you will find a way to make it.

Later on I will share the Japan Journey! I need to go Kaki Berbulu already wakes up :)

Hello from the other side*

Hallo...

Well its been quite a while since my last post. I made some posts through blog mobile application, somehow it failed and the story is lost between draft or posted, oh i don't know...
I gave up easily on mobile application, as easy as i give up on Jakarta rush hours traffic...

So many things going on since my last post, I plan to write on the house project and latest travelling story of Si Muka Lebar and Kaki Berbulu.
But this post today is about perspective.

As i grow up, I realize that life is not like what we always think. I used to have an idea that living in Bekasi (25 km to my office) is a waste of time, well having lived in Kalibata (less than 10 km from my office) for 3 years, spending 20 minutes (in Ied holiday no traffic at all) to 2 hours driving (average driving is 1 hour) to the office, and by living in Bekasi I only spent 45 minutes to 2 hours to the office (average driving is 50 minutes). It turned out it's so much easier living in Bekasi than in Kalibata, LOL, I must be crazy if I say this 2 years ago. That how I lived, we tend to live under a perspective, wait until you stand on the other side, and see that from a different perspective, you will have a different view.

I found this story, when i browsed for our soon to be new country president in the Starship (curiosity killed the cat... I don't want to be curious, as the Starship director interviewed him, i went on line looking for his track record as well, hihi it turned out that he is a leader that is loved and respected by his employee), he told this story to his employee...
There is a picture of a beautiful beach, and he asked the employee what does this picture tells you? It's a a beautiful beach, white sands and blue water... Then the picture zoomed out, it turn out to be a view from an airplane window... Further zoom out it's a post card showing a airplane interior with a window showing the beautiful beach (more or less that's the story, i forgot the exact story ha-ha!).

that's a perspective, the way you think of something it's really depend on your perspective. So, try to see a thing from different perspective you might get a better idea of a thing.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. you will never know what it has until you are in the very end of the chapter. but not all people have time to read through a book, how do we know if it's good? You might get a summary of a book but back again to perspective, the summary writer might have a different perspective from ours. So, there is no short cut in undestanding things, if you new in a thing, walk it step by step, unless you like surprises, pick a guess, go with it and get lost in possibilities...

The point of what I want to say in this post is, judging is boring, so try to look into a different perspective, you might get a different new brighter better view.

Happy Sunday!
*I believe it's part of Adele's song lyrics, called "Hallo"

What did you see in this picture?

Let's build a nest - Part 1

A wife need a house, a new bigger nest to put all this books, plates, bowls, bags, shoes and clothes... Seriously. Kalibata is about to blow up, with all the stuffs we collect along the journey.

We've been trying to make this post for a long time, and now it's the time....

This story is started from Muka Lebar dream to have a perfect house, not only a house but a place she called home, that meets her criteria:

  1. A garden
  2. No balcony
  3. No walls between rooms other than bathroom and bed room.
  4. The land should be at least 100 meters sq.
On our second years of marriage, we finally have budget (limited) to start looking for a house. YAAAAY!!!

This is the real challenge, property price in Jakarta is insanely high!

For our budget, definitely. We try to look at the outskirt area (Ragunan, Cilandak KKO, Depok, we won't bother to see a house in BSD, price is too high and too far...) and it brings nightmare only by going to see the house... the traffic is really bad, small alley, small street, one car street... on a 90 meters land, build a 120 meters building, very high price (unbelievable).

It suffocates me, every time:
  1. Trip to see the house (more than 2 hours, can you imagine how to go to work in this traffic?)
  2. Open house, (welcome! walk few steps another wall, end of the house...)
  3. Price list (there are more the digits on the price list than the steps you can take from the front door to the back door....); and
  4. journey back to our home in Kalibata (another hours on the traffic).
The seller/mid man has this NASTY trick, they put on a price with our budget on the adv. and when we visit the house, the price is not they advertised! It's a big disappointment, when we arrived there (after going through 2 hours traffic) knowing the property they sell is not what they advertised. I wish I can claim them by hourly rate, for the hours spent wasted on their fake advertisement.

After 6 months, having this weekend routine, it breaks my spirit. I'am sick of looking for a house and started to see a bigger apartment.

Which bring more headache. I did fell in love with a unit and booked one, turns out the developer do not have cooperation with my bank (cancelled), then I fell in love (I fell so hard it hurts) with another unit, with price double our budget. Ha-ha!

It's like a journey to find your significant other, you find one, getting to know each other, you fell in love but it just did not work. you broke up, it's gone....
I wonder, why it is so hard to find a home? is it me? or is it the property blood sucking market, that demand too much from me?

I have a serious standard of a home and when the perfect price charming come, it shoves me away down to the gutter.... Only Mbak-mbak and Mas-mas coming with European cars that can afford the real good property, or some people with money from God know where that can afford them. It's unbelievable, I come to a low point and wonder how could a good honest hard worker couples like us, cannot afford to buy a property in the city we work our ass off?

So, desperate, we start looking at a place the least expected, Bekasi.
  • Advantages: It has good access to Jakarta, (plenty of choices for access) All you have to do just pick a high good ground free from flood (but all Jakarta area are flooded in heavy rain... so flood is normal... right?!)
  • Disadvantages: My in laws live in Bekasi. Self-explanatory.
We visited 4 houses in total, here's the summary:
House 1 - Rumah Nenek.
  • Advantages
Spacious, High ceiling, 170sqm land, 120sqm house, perfect.
Smelly house because a 90 y.o. old lady we called "Nenek" live alone (no problem, we can renovate the house).
good price
  • Disadvantages
Family drama. I love drama, i will tell you the 'brief'story (can you imagine the complete detail of the drama? I will took pages!)
The house attached with the youngest son of this old lady and the son despite he is a 40 year old man, acts like a little boy.
Here is the story, Nenek is from Padang, with matrilineal bloodline (means the woman continue the family bloodline, not the man). Nenek only has 2 kid, the eldest daughter and the youngest son. In accordance to their culture, if Nenek passed away, all of her property shall be owned by the daughter. This is the problem, when Nenek try to sell the house to us, the youngest son try to protest her mother decision, afraid that the money from the sales will be for his older sister. After fighting in front of us, Nenek is upset and said that She has the right over the house and the money will be for her, since she will spent her old days in Europe with all her friends (then we know that Nenek is world traveler, just like me!) and the next day we come to take the copy of certificate to apply the house loan. What happen next? It never happens. The certificate of the house is gone, either Nenek forget where to keep it or someone took the certificate, it remains mystery that I do not want to solve.

House 2 - Rumah Ibu (Nenek's Daughter) - Yes, daugther lives nearby
  • Advantages
Spacious, High ceiling, 190sqm land, 150sqm house, perfect.
Need serious fix (no problem, we can renovate the house).
good price
  • Disadvantages
The actual land is bigger than in the certificate, and this might jeopardize our loan application with the discrepancy.

House 3 - Rumah Mbak  I
  • Advantages
Spacious, High ceiling, 170sqm land, 150sqm house, perfect.
Old house but in good condition
  • Disadvantages
30% above our budget.

House 4 - Rumah Mbak  II (sister of Mbak I) - yes, the sister lives side by side.
  • Advantages
Spacious, High ceiling, 170sqm land, 150sqm house, perfect.
good price
  • Disadvantages
house is 50cm below the street level, even the water level is higher then the house. So it needs a serous fix, not just a renovation but we need to demolish the house and re-build it (need more money to re-build a house!)

Note: All of this house located in the same street with my in-laws. Purrrrfect.....

Some say, picking a house is like picking a husband/wife... if you are meant to be with each other you will be... no matter how hard, difficult, impossible it may seem, you will be together.

We'll see, which house is meant to be with us....

Puisi Cinta untuk Yodda

Jadi alkisah teman, well a good friend of mine, sahabat atau teman baik saat SMA akan menikah.

Well, he's one of a kind, not one of a kind you wanna hooked up with, but he's one of a kind that you respect. Let's call him, yodda.

Jadi, yodda ini temenan dari early age of highschool, dengan vespa birunya nganter gue pulang, anaknya ingusan suka meler, ngomongnya cadel, pendek. But he is wise and kind.

Anyway, dia mau nikah, and since he isnone of a kind, dia suruhlah gue bikin puisi tentang cinta, dia mau buat antopologi cinta (aku pun tak paham apa itu)...

Well, knowing me loves to write, i made this one, special for Yodda wedding:
Jam berapa pun kau datang pasti kutunggu
Iya, kusiapkan makanan yang kau suka
Wajar kalau kau lelah, sini ku pijat kakimu
Apa ceritamu hari ini? Tak  bosan aku dengar kisahmu
Nikmat hidup adalah bersamamu
Gembiraku adalah bahagia dan tawamu
Garis hidupku
Aku dan kamu
Kamu dan aku
Untuk hari ini dan selamanya
Demikianlah malam ini ge habiskan 2 jam nahan pipis, ditengah kemacetan menghasilkan sebuah puisi cinta. Cieeee!

Cheers,
Kucinganteng!

Aku Pulang

Gue heran kenapa hasrat menulis tidak timbul-timbul, but anyway i need to tell this...

Pekerja ibu kota tuh hebat.

Gue inget lagunya Iwan Fals, orang pinggiran, owaeo... Lupa teksnya hehe, intinya orang pinggiran ini betul-betul pekerja keras. Salut.

Hehe..

Siapa tau gak ada lagi tuntutan naikin UMR, buruh pada bilang "soriiih pak, gaji saya ud cukup segini aja, lebih-lebih malah..."

Bukan hanya uang yang bersisa, waktu pun bersisa banyak, pulang masih bisa masak opor ayam, bantu anak bikin PR, atau sekedar nonton DVD...

Kalau transportasi umum baik, mobil pribadi berkurang, macet berkurang...

Tuk tik tak tik tuk tik tak tik tuk tik tak tik tuk...

Cheers,
Si Muka Lebar

Wrap up - My Stories

Gue dilanda malas menulis, hampir 2 tahun nih... So many stories to tell, so resolusi 2014 (yang baru gue putuskan hari ini) adalah mulai rajin nulis blog lagi...

I've been travel a lot lately), so many stories to tell...

Oke, sakit kepala, ciao!

Surprise Trip - Lombok Adventure

Alkisah, sang istri, si Muka Lebar mau kasih surprise buat ulang tahun suaminya... hotel di book jauh-jauh hari, dan last minute dapet refrensi dari temen, buat ikut tur, lombokadventure.

Well, as I said, kita kan anak backpack, gak pake tur-tur-an... namun, because it's a special occasion, makanya si Muka Lebar memutuskan ikut tur ini, karena Tur-nya pakai Land Rover 4WD. Gue sih ga paham ya soal mobil-mobilan, tapi kayanya seru tur pake 4WD.

Well, the first day, kita ambil tur yang exploring Lombok southren beaches...
Foto pantainya, later on yah, so far sih trip ini beda, karena 4WD-nya, pas sunset di pantai... (and again gue lupa judul pantainya, yang gue inget cuma pink beach) kita naik ke atap mobil, sambil naik turun bukit dan kebon.. ahhhh berasa indiana jones versi pantai...

Rencana memang hanya sekali, tapi si Kaki Berbulu, ketagihan, jadilah hari kedua kita ikut trip Lombokadventure lagi, kali ini kita jadi anak gunung....

Tips buat snorkeling, kalo gak bisa renang, bawa life vest yah... atau minta providernya sediain Life Vest sebelumnya... hehe

Cheers,
Si Muka Lebar

Rain = Hujan

Intinya hujan ini blessing in disguise...
Jd kalo kita ga mau banjir minimal kita Bantu tu air ngalir... Caranya gmn? Goggling aja bos... Hp jng dipake wasap, twiter sama path doang... Jangan whining aje...
Seperti kata orang bijak "if you dont like it, change it.... Stop bitchin' and do nothing about it"...
Selamat bekerja lagi...

Meee! I'm here!

Over the weekend we plan to spend our weekend in a young adult, mature activity, such as reading.

So here we are, reading. Now, i guess so...

My husband loves to read... We both lover to read, but I easily get distracted or get bored.... So most of the time it's just my husband reading.

When he do reading, he is so focus... Won't listen to me, and me trying so hard getting his attention.

I  did many things, call him, chat (more like me talking he's nggeremeng 'hmm') with him, put my hand on his book (jangan ditiru ini tidak sopan), or any thing else,

jeez it doesnt work, so it ends up, this mature activity, my husband keep reading his book, and me meracau, ngeblog, and merengek minta pulang atau makan.

Ah, so much for reading book on weekend... I better eat.

A Monday Pray

Amin.

Happy Almost New Year

"Another year has come around, and i am so lucky that i've ever found ya...thank you, thank you... Thank you baby"*

Tonight story is not about forgiveness... it's about rage and madness.

PERTAMA - Ibu-ibu ignorant. Gue tidak mengeneralisir makanya gue tambah kata ignorant. Yang tidak ignorant jng gr, dan yg ignorant, yes this is absolutely about you!

Gue dan Kaki Berbulu terlibat diskusi, dimana si Kaki Berbulu sangat terganggu dengan kebiasaan nyetir III, dimulai dari parkiran PP, kita dateng cukup pagi dan parkiran sepi, dan di depan kita parkir dg cantiknya mobil merah, ibu2 itu nurunin kereta bayinya wkt turun-ditemani ibu2 lbh tua yg gendong bayi. Just the three of them, dan parkirnya gak hanya miring, tp ngambil jatah sebelahnya. I mean please, is that so hard to park ur car correctly III?? Kalo di kalibata ud baret tu mobilnya disumpahin org2 sekampung.
Peristiwa kedua, siangan dikit... penyerobotan parkir yang terjadi di fx - A pajero went out of the parking spot, ada fortuner sudah menunggu di depan kanan untuk parkir, dan eng ing eng, avanza dpn kita dg cihuynya lngs masuk spot itu once the pajero gone. SOTB. Guess what drivernya III. Trus si Kaki Berbulu pun cerita, selama 6 tahun naik kereta depok-tebet. Ga ada dia prn liat ibu2 kasi duduk ke ibu hamil ato org tua *si Kaki Berbulu sendiri gak pernah duduk di kereta*, even worse temen si Kaki Berbulu, cerita bahkan dia naik gerebong wanita, gak pernah dikasih duduk. Oh ya she's pregnant btw. Gue merasa III suka seenak jidatnya, simply krn merasa dirinya ibu2, kalau gue telusuri banyak terjadi di antrian wc di mall, either ga mau ngantri, atau nyelak di dpn yang masi muda "maaf saya kebelet" masuk2 aja. Begitu juga di busway, pas gue berdiri di tiang dkt supir, ibu2 nyuruh gue minggir alasannya, "saya jauh" ya gue sih gpp, but by judging other passanger, yah dia ga tua2 bgt, masi bny yg lbh butuh spot itu drpd dia.

and it makes me wonder, what makes you -III- thinking that u could do any thing you want. Best part-nya malem ini otw home mobil diserempet sama III gak sabaran di jln kecil. Ga mau berenti sih. Damn you III! *pesan sponsor: when you become ibu2, no matter how hard your life will be, most of ur time flies take care of kids who cant say thank you, husband always has reason to come home late, your neighbor has new microwave and you dont - PLEASE dont throw your shits on us, expect us to understand that ur life sucks. Have dignity, keep your heads up and be patient* makanya ibu2 itu mulia pahalanya banyak karena (1) bersabar; atau (2) ignorant, tapi dosanya berkurang krn diomongin org sekampung.

KEDUA - kalibata dan seluruhbpenghunigiladansakitjiwanya *and i am about to be one of them, or i had become one of them*, berisik adalah salah satu kemewahan. You're so lucky to have a noisy neighbor sekedar suaranya keras (org2 tertentu terkenal bersuara keras dan suka ngumpul2), atau punya new born baby. Jackpotnya pny ignorant teenager living next to you. Once live next to me, 2 idiot and alive teenagers. Ngerayain ultah tengah malam mengundang teman2 sekampung, berisik, saking banyaknya sampe duduk di lorong and they also smoke hard too. Oh ya the best part itu jam 12 malam rabu. Ayeyuya! They have dogs too! Untungnya ud pindah. Mungkin dilaporin polisi, mungkin dibeliin rumah sama bokap supertajirnya, mungkin tiba2 hamil jd DO, ortunya malu dan dia pindah ke ciamis, mungkin diculik alien.

Merokok setiap saat setiap waktu hanya satu dr kekhasan penduduk kalibata. Segerombolan anak muda ignorant, yg ngerokok di lift, org muda main bultang pagi2 yg walopun lo sembunyiin rokoknya di balik badan ttp aja kecium asepnya -belasan lantai ke bawah, it's quite a while you moron, liftnya ud bau asep rokok pas dibawah* ato bapak2 tetangga gue yg tampak pekerja kantoran *harusnya well educated* ms nekat aja ngerokok di lift...

Parkir. People will kill for parking spot at kalibata. Pernahkah kau lihat org parkir paralel di hand rem, paralel penuh sepanjang sisi, the best part paralel kiri kanan. Hahaha anjrit parah. Gue sampe kasian sama pengurus parkir kalibata. Pernah juga penjaga parkir dipukulin krn melarang parkir. Man, kalah ngasi makan singa bahayanya dibanding jagain parkir di kalibata.

Menurut analisis kaki berbulu, no matter how smart are you, cewe cowo ibu2 bapak2 tua muda. You'll eventually being stupid for living at kalibata. Oke blame me for having this place as my home. Tempat ini kaya hutan rimba. Dr jual makan, baju, minum, paha, dada... Semua ada. Kl bertahan hidup disini tanpa kehilangan kewarasan,  you can conquer the world *mahzab si muka lebar*.

KETIGA - GUE DAN SI KAKI BERBULU "and i know we said things did things that we dont even mean, and we fall back into the same pattern, some routine... But you're tempered is as bad as mine is you're the same as me... Maybe our relationship is not as crazy as it seems, maybe that's what happened when a tornado meets a volcano, all i know is i love you too much, to walk away though..."**
It is simple when it started, krn lampu? Si A kesel krn B gak matiin lampu, dan B marah ke A, krn A gak matiin lampu kemarin dan B gak kesel sama A. Oke, apakah penyebabnya a) B gak matiin lampu atau b) A gak mati lampu? What ever your answer is wrong answer, because in this kind of situation-nothing is right.

KEEMPAT - PERATURAN PLAT GANJIL GENAP. Absolutely a fucked up regulation. Dengan cerita busway selalu full, tingkat kriminal tinggi di angkot dan bis, taxi dg ace sedingin freezer yg kl hujan suka nolakin penumpang-ga mau narik, dan ojek ugal2an. Seriously? You ppl wanna throw us *the middle lower citizens (ga kaya org kaya pny 2 mobil ganjil genap, namun mobilisasi tinggi buat cari duit)* in to the wild?

Kelima... I dont have that much things that i hate tonight. And i am extremely hungry.

Peace and stay out of trouble, it's 2 days to go to NYE.

A Rainy Tuesday

A lazy tuesday. Si kucinganteng sesuai hakikatnya sebagai kucing, sejak pagi bermalas-malasan dirumah. Dikasur tidur dikaki ibunya, si Muka Lebar. Krrrr... Krrrr... Krrr...
Meringkuk dilantai, dibawah tempat tidur si muka lebar. Menangis tanpa suara (si kucinganteng punya kelainan yaitu super cute, malas bergerak dan tak bersuara, kelainan yg dicintai si muka lebar setengah mati).
"sini-sini", ucap si muka lebar, menarik si kucinganteng, ibunya meringkuk seperti huruf c, dan si kucinganteng dipeluk diperut si muka lebar.
Yam yam!

My (Imaginary) Life

I am an adventurer.

but i feel like i am trapped in this life, in the job my profession.

I love the idea of trying new things and sometime I make it comes true. I am young and there is so many things in this world i haven't tried. yet.

one time I have the idea of being a writer. resign from my job and live in a house above the hill at Cimahi and write a novel about a girl kills her bff because a boy or a rich girl from rusia, K, try to escape with her sister and twin brother... from the people destroy their family and killed her parents. or about a women working her ass off for dream she never had.

another time, after having a very adventurous trip at Borneo, I wish i am a photographer or journalist. i travel around the globe to write about people and places. i want to resign and applied for a job at NGO involve in forestry or orangutan or tiger issue... or whatever.

some time i wish i was someone else who is not me.

I imagine, I resigned, me my self have 4 kids. feed them my self, clean them my self. take them to school, helping them out with the homework. living in a my dream house, big garden and big window. have 3 cats. amazing imaginary life.

and i realise, the only writing i made, is this blog and my adventure only happens when i am lucky there is  business calls to mother nature (considering my profession, the calls is very rare!) and my 4 kids' name are GSA (gas sales agreement), Major Contract, Minor Contract and BPA (blanket purchase agreement).
Maybe my imagination is just resigned from my work. i feel desperate, suicidal and pessimistic that's all.

BUT to be honest with my self, i don't mind at all... well life is hard. but i am not gonna stop... not now not today. so i will keep imagining things that i am not and do what ever i am today at my best.

What a lovely life i have.... aaaahhh....

Canteen, H-2 to Chrismast with a glass of Hara Kiwi  (even the cocktail sound suicidal) and margarita pizza (nice thin pizza with mozzarella fresh tomatoes, rocket and blackpapper).

Bali in My Life

Mengingat masa-masa sebelumnya mengunjungi Bali selalu meninggalkan banyak cerita. Inilah beberapa catatan (sepanjang ingatan) si Muka Lebar tantang Bali

First Time
Perjalanan pertama ke Bali tepat 2 minggu sebelum serangan Bom Bali I tahun 2002. Melalui jalur darat bersama dengan keluarga. Yang paling berkesan kami naik kapal ketika sunrise, the view was so amazing.

Tapi tentu saja Bali selalu mempunyai cerita menarik. I always love Bali!

The wife needs an assistant of for house

Gak berasa hampir setahun aja gitu gue jadi istri si Kaki Berbulu, the days passed by since our wedding day.. dan hidup gue sejak saat itu bak rollercoaster ride... hehehe intresting!

walau sungguh ya gue banyak harus memperbaiki diri, misalnya tepat waktu mengisi uang bulanan dan membayar tagihan listrik dan air, cuci piring, lbh rajin nyapu dan ngepel.... oh sungguh... oh sungguh... I did try my best, Love.. I really did, tapi kadang-kadang gue suka lupa.. wajar kan? lupa kan manusiawi...

Kaya lupa bayar listrik dan air

Suatu hari yang sibuk, gue pas internal meeting, dan ketika si anak angkasa masuk buat meeting, tiba2 gue inget, "Anjriit bentar bentar", langsung ngecek folder di PC (folder bukti transfer), "kenape lo?" tanya si anak angkasa, gue lngs tepok jidat "mampus gue belom bayar listrik!"..."istri macem apa lo lupa bayar listrik????". Good newsnya ternyata listriknya gak diputus (orang telatnya sebulan hehehe tp listrik + air ttp nyala). Bad newsnya denda. Good News-nya lagi dendanya dikit kok... =) See there is always a bright side of every story...

Ato lupa cuci piring, ah kalo itu bukan lupa gue gak sempet aja.. yg lupa tu lupa cuci rice cooker, kan ga keliatan ya? wajar dong lupa... kecuali ud aga lama baunya menyebar baru... tu lupa, manusiawi kan.

kayanya musti punya assistant of the house kaya si red hair yang sekarang cabs ke amrik sono (mencoba peruntungan jd housewive, ato loyer ato ga tau dia ngapain disana with her twisted mind), si party asistennya apa kabar tu? harusnya gue adopsi aja... Tp Si Kaki Berbulu bilang mo ditero mana tu asisten? Kamar ke-2 kan gudang (isinya lemari baju rak baju rak sepatu, meja kerja yg diatasnya penuh panci, set sendok garpu piso, teko, plus pilatess ball segeda  babi bunting), enak itu ya kapsul air panas, kaya Dragon Ball, kl butuh tinggal disiram air panas, taaa daaa! Jd deh asisten, kl ga butuh diciutin lagi...

enak tu kaya si salah satu babi kecil panda, pulang-pulang ud "Hen, masakain indomi rebus pake cabe rawit buat besok pagi ke kantor..." trus besok paginya gue ikut makan HAHAHAHA...

kalo gue ud pulang, malem abis naik ojeg, seharian di bully, dikunyah2, trus kudu nyapu ngepel... hehe, jd kl kotor kadang gue ngepelnya pake tisu basah aja... jd kpn nih kita sewa assistant of the house, love?
